Detour Forces Us Into Nevada At Craig's request I'm writing about today's adventures again. He is way too busy formatting graphics and writing html code. Spent most of the day driving up 395 while Craig worked on the laptop connected to the cigarette lighter. Stopped to buy an avocado at a cherry farm stand. They had beautiful lilacs. I love lilacs. Happy Mother's Day A detour took us into Nevada. Which brought us into Reno about 3 pm. Our mission was to find a place to hop online and dowload this all to you. Thanks to Sean at the Kinkos on California Avenue, we were directed to the most amazingly perfect place. The Pneumatic Diner on the corner of First Street and Ralston, upstairs in the back of the Trukee River Lodging House. An oasis of better than homemade food, super nice people, and a special little elevated-nook-in-the-corner kind of room with a computer in it for free internet access. Just what we were looking for! Craig downloaded the page between glasses of Guiness. I had some of their fabulous lasagna (full of real fresh vegetables), a piece of rhubarb pie with real whipped cream and a tall glass of freshly squeezed lemonade. We stayed long enough to take in some great live jazz while I checked my e-mail. It was a little late to find a campground so we checked out motels and hotels. All rooms were about $40 so we picked the Flamingo. Looked at the 17th floor view and crashed. We are back at the Pneumatic with Dena and Denise. Sending more pages into cyberspace, listening to Van Morrison, eating more great-tasting healthy food and ready for who knows what. Where would be a real interesting place for Craig to set up and easel and paint while I perform some of my pieces and offer up cds and tapes to the spirit of money and appreciation? - Lisa
