Virus
Delays Departure
After spending the first two days preparing electronic gadgetry for our venture into the great unplugged outdoors, we are finally out of L.A!
We had trouble getting Craig's QuickCam to function on my laptop. Some funky fictitious error window kept popping up with no pertinent information. So Craig spent three futile hours on the phone with the Connectix techies, while I tried to regenerate a flow of enthusiasm.
Then SAM discovered a major viral infestation in the system folder and finder. How did that happen? I feel like a cyber-slut!
Craig slapped the virus with some disinfectant while I read a passage from Alan Watts' "The Book: On The Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are". With help from a powerbook Disk Tools e-mailed to us by John "Bongos" Keating the MB/DF strain A, or whatever it was, finally became an unpleasant memory, but the QuickCam still didn't work.
