10-Day Road Inversion!
Or at least it was. This is just one of a number of phrases we felt described a project that took place between Friday, May 8 and Sunday, May 18, 1997.
Artist Craig Millman and poet Lisa Verlo took our work on the road and into the net in the form of a conceptual web project that involved art, poetry, and anything else we could come up with. We bundled up an Apple laptop, and assorted artistic and musical paraphenalia in Lisa's hearty Westfalia and proceeded on a meandering detour through the wild western states. This organic web page documented our journey, growing and developing in conjunction with our travels and creations.
There was no itinerary for the trip. We wanted everything to remain as spontaneous as possible. This both complicated things and allowed for the influence of chance that directed us. Along the way we were able to enjoy some superb landscape, meet new people, create some interesting art and learn a lot about a new medium.
