Shakin' It
At the Pneumatic Diner
At the Pneumatic Diner, in Reno, Nevada, we were made really welcome by Chris McClendon - the "Bev Guy" who also puts things together for the microwave and convection oven. Chris turns into a massage guy when he leaves here.
Christian Christensen, cook and senior at McQueen High, recommended I try the lasagna. Gabe Burke is the third guy, a people person, non-computer user who also works at another restaurant and cleans things. Cameron wouldn't give up much information about himself. Dena Maqueda, who does everything around the joint, especially phone biz, suggested I talk to Brandon when he gets in. He has been there since the beginning, and before that and knows everything.
Dena has been here since August and also works at Resurrection Records, an underground music store she started with some friends. Their very extensive and informative menu, with a sense of humor, filled me in a bit.
Enter Brandon Finch, "The Old Guy" (hardly), he wrote the 3rd man job description. He is also a climber and loves Reno. Brandon gave me the scoop on the place while jetting back and forth between tables. John Jessie and Tim Healion are the owners. John runs this place, and installed the computer. Brandon pointed out the neon ceiling sculptures and the parts list on the menu as being some of their outstanding features. Anything they have in the store, they will serve to you - any combination, prepared any way you want, within reason.
